Mangsa, Md Yusuf Mukhtar, 71, dan isterinya, Rosnah Salleh, 65, disahkan maut di lokasi kejadian, manakala anak, Muhamad Izuddin, 36, meninggal dunia di Hospital Mersing. Ketua Polis Mersing Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani, berkata pihaknya menerima maklumat kemalangan sekitar 8.30 malam melibatkan kereta jenis Toyota Vios dan Proton Persona. Katanya, kereta Toyota Vios dipandu lelaki berusia 36 tahun dari arah Kuantan menuju ke Johor Bahru dipercayai terbabas lalu memasuki laluan bertentangan sebelum bertembung dengan sebuah kereta dari arah Kota Tinggi. “Akibat kemalangan ini, pemandu Toyota Vios cedera parah di bahagian perut serta patah tangan kanan dan dirawat di Hospital Sultan Ismail (HSI) Johor Bahru. “Sementara itu, pemandu Proton Persona seorang lelaki berusia 36 tahun disahkan meninggal dunia di Hospital Mersing akibat cedera parah di bahagian kepala. “Dua orang penumpang iaitu ibu dan bapanya masing-masing berusia 65 tahun dan 71 tahun disahkan meninggal dunia di lokasi kemalangan,” katanya kepada Kosmo. Beliau berkata, seorang lagi penumpang iaitu anak pemandu Proton Persona cedera di bahagian kepala dan masih dirawat di HSI. Abdul Razak berkata, kanak-kanak perempuan berusia lima tahun itu dalam keadaan stabil. Katanya, Kes disiasat di bawah Seksyen 41(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan 1987. News
