(AP pic) PETALING JAYA: There are no confirmed reports of Malaysians on board the Jeju Air plane that crashed in South Korea today and claimed at least 62 lives, says Wisma Putra. The foreign ministry said the Malaysian embassy in Seoul is actively gathering information from official sources and is monitoring the situation. “At the time of reporting, there is no confirmation of Malaysian involvement in the incident,” it said in a statement issued at 11am. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of the victims during this difficult time.” Wisma Putra said it will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available and encouraged Malaysians who require assistance or information to contact the Malaysian embassy in Seoul. Jeju Air flight 7C2216 veered off the runway and slammed into a wall at South Korea’s Muan International Airport at 8.03am Malaysian time, Yonhap news agency reported. The accident occurred as the flight from Bangkok, carrying 175 passengers and six crew members, was landing at the airport some 300km south of Seoul. News
