PBB division moots no-contest for top 5 posts in party polls Posted on 24/11/2024 Members of a PBB division have called for the top five posts in the party to be uncontested at the party elections. (Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA: The top five posts in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu should not be contested at the forthcoming party elections, members of a PBB division resolved today. Tupong PBB chief Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman said the division’s members unanimously agreed that the party presidency should be uncontested, as well as the posts of deputy president and senior vice-president, for both its Bumiputera and Pesaka wings, Utusan Borneo reported. The Pesaka wing consists of non-Muslim Dayaks while the Bumiputera wing is for Malays as well as Muslim and non-Muslim Melanau. The party structure came about following the merger of Parti Bumiputera and Pesaka in 1973 to form PBB. Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman. PBB is led by its president Abang Johari Openg (who is also the Sarawak premier) with deputy presidents Douglas Uggah Embas and Awang Tengah Ali Hasan (both deputy premiers), and senior vice-presidents Fadillah Yusof (who is deputy prime minister) and Stephen Rundi Utom (a state minister).
