PETALING JAYA: Bangkai seekor kucing dan anjing ditemukan di kawasan kampus Universiti Malaya (UM) malam tadi. Penyelamat haiwan Shima Aris yang mengesahkan kejadian ini berkata, terdapat kecederaan pada perut haiwan berkenaan. “Saya sudah minta pelajar buat laporan polis,” katanya. Penemuan dua bangkai kucing di Fakulti Perniagaan dan Ekonomi pada 12 dan 16 Dis lepas membawa kepada laporan oleh Kesatuan Mahasiswa UM (KMUM) pada 17 Dis. Satu lagi laporan dibuat pada 20 Dis berhubung kematian empat kucing di lokasi berbeza di kampus. Perkembangan ini sehari selepas polis mengumumkan membuka kertas siasatan berhubung kes kematian kucing di pusat pengajian itu. Pada 22 Dis, hasil semakan CCTV, polis mendapati terdapat sekumpulan anjing liar yang bertindak menyerang kucing. Polis merujuk perkara itu kepada Jabatan Perkhidmatan Veterinar dan pengesahan kecederaan yang dialami ke atas kematian kucing terbabit adalah disebabkan serangan anjing-anjing liar. Sementara itu, Presiden KMUM Abqari Annuar berkata, pihaknya telah meminta pejabat keselamatan universiti mengetatkan jagaan di pintu masuk kampus serta mempertingkat rondaan. “Pihak UM juga berjanji akan memasang lebih banyak CCTV,” katanya.
