(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a 38-year-old detainee who escaped from custody at the Alor Gajah court complex in Melaka on Monday. Melaka deputy police chief Nazri Zawawi said a customs officer filed a report at 11.30am on Monday after the detainee, a foreigner, fled from the court complex with both hands cuffed more than an hour earlier. The man was being investigated in relation to a drug trafficking case, he said. The man reportedly fled by pushing away an escorting officer and climbing over the court complex’s fence. In a statement, Nazri said the man was arrested at a durian farm in Taman Melaka Pindah, Alor Gajah, at 6.10pm yesterday following an operation involving the cops and customs department. “The suspect is being investigated under Section 224 of the Penal Code for resisting arrest, which is punishable by up to two years’ jail, a fine, or both, upon conviction,” he said.
