Man reported missing on Dec 13 found dead in car

KUANTAN: A 55-year-old man reported missing since Dec 13 was found dead in a car at a parking lot near a restaurant in Sungai Isap here today.

Kuantan police chief Wan Zahari Wan Busu said the body of Safri Ali was found by members of the public in a car at about 4pm.

The body was identified by his family members and taken to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital’s forensic department for a post-mortem, he said in a statement tonight.

A preliminary investigation found no criminal elements in his death.

Safri was reported missing after leaving home at about 8am on Dec 13 to collect medicine at the Kampung Kurnia health clinic here.

His brother lodged a missing person’s report the next day.
