(Gambar Bernama) RIO DE JANEIRO: Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim memulakan program dengan sesi diskusi santai bersama komuniti Islam di sini. Beliau turut menyatakan komitmen Malaysia dalam membantu urusan berkaitan halal, selain usaha memartabatkan agama suci itu menerusi pendidikan dan dakwah kepada komuniti Islam di Brazil. “Dalam pertemuan ini, kami dapat berbincang dan bertukar pandangan soal pembangunan ummah di negara ini,” katanya kepada pemberita selepas bertemu wakil-wakil masjid tunggal di sini iaitu Masjid Luz. Mewakili Masjid Luz ialah Presidennya, Mohamed Zeinhom Mohamed El Fateh Mohamed Abdien, Imam Sancho Jorge Mulungo @ Adam, Timbalan Pengarah Jabatan Sosial Julia Leal Menezes, dan Pengarah Kewangan masjid berkenaan Abdullah al Masri. Turut serta dalam pertemuan itu ialah Menteri Luar Mohamad Hasan. Perdana menteri turut menyampaikan sumbangan kepada komuniti Islam, selain menyerahkan senaskhah al-Quran cetakan khas dan 10 lagi yang merupakan terjemahan dalam bahasa Portugis. Beliau berkata, Malaysia juga akan menggerakkan usaha bagi membantu aktiviti di Masjid Luz. Anwar tiba di bandar tepian pantai yang meriah dengan aktiviti pada Sabtu selepas menghadiri Minggu Pemimpin Ekonomi Apec (AELW) di Lima, Peru untuk lawatan rasmi pertamanya ke Brazil. Malaysia bersama 16 negara lain termasuk Chile, Qatar, Mesir, Singapura, Sepanyol, Emiriah Arab Bersatu, dan Vietnam juga adalah negara tetamu pada Sidang Kemuncak G20.
