(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: The six Malaysians arrested by Thai police last November, including a Kelantanese dikir barat singer, on suspicion of drug possession must undergo further interrogations before facing charges in court, says Narathiwat prison director Surin Chantep. Surin said this is part of Thailand’s legal process to ensure information is thoroughly gathered before prosecution. He said all six have completed five interrogation sessions so far, with the fifth session through video conference today. There are two more sessions to go. “It (today’s session) was recorded at Narathiwat prison from 9am to noon (local time). There are two more sessions scheduled,” Bernama quoted him as saying at a press conference at the prison. Surin gave his assurance that the meals served to the singer and the other Malaysians are similar to what is typically served in Malaysia. “The families of the Malaysian inmates need not worry, as the food provided by the prison is halal,” he said. It was previously reported that Thai police arrested the six Malaysians on Nov 1 for allegedly possessing 6,000 ecstasy pills in a raid on a hotel in Golok. News
