(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA: National men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani stopped Malaysia’s rout in the India Open semi-finals after securing a final berth by defeating home pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty tonight. Despite the deafening roar of the capacity crowd at the stadium in New Delhi, the Malaysians appeared unperturbed as they went on to defeat the world No 9 pair in hard-fought straight games 21-18, 21-14 The world No 2 pair wrapped up the match in 37 minutes, marking their third win of seven encounters with the Indian shuttlers. Sze Fei-Izzuddin are the only Malaysians in the India Open final round, and will battle Korea’s Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae. Earlier, mixed doubles shuttlers Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan-M Thinaah and men’s doubles duo Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik all lost their semi-final matches.
