(Facebook pic) PETALING JAYA: Composer of Malay songs S Atan died at his home in Kajang this afternoon. He was 75. Atan, whose real name was Hashim Said, had been battling health issues, including a stroke and kidney problems, in recent years. He was admitted to a medical centre on Sept 16 for a lung infection. The father of six had been involved in the Malaysian music industry for over four decades. He composed more than 1,000 songs, working with iconic singers such as Siti Nurhaliza, SM Salim, Sharifah Aini, Sudirman Hj Arshad, Jamal Abdillah and Sheila Majid. News
