(X pics) PETALING JAYA: A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to five years’ jail and three strokes of the rotan for robbing an ice-cream shop in Klang last month, police said. Klang Selatan police chief Cha Hoong Fong said the sentence was handed down by the Klang sessions court on Oct 30. In a statement today, he said the man was arrested a day after the cashier lodged a report over a robbery that took place on Oct 23 at the shop in Pandamaran. Clips from a security camera showing the robbery have been widely shared on social media. The cashier said one man armed with a parang went to the shop and snatched two mobile phones from customers while another man also armed with a parang forcefully removed the cash register. They fled the scene in a blue Proton Iriz . Cha said the robber has a record for 11 criminal offences and three drug-related offences. News
